RESIG Refugee Student Settlement Pilot webinar
Oct 2023
The Australian federal government, along with the Refugee Education Special Interest Group (RESIG), Community Refugee Sponsorship Australia (CRSA), and the new Australian Refugee Welcome University Sponsorship Consortium (ARWUSC), are in the process of designing a blueprint for ground-breaking new educational migration pathway for refugees, the Refugee Student Settlement Pathway (RSSP).
Working from the successful Canadian program led by the World University Service of Canada (WUSC), the RSSP is hoped to pave the way to an exciting new chapter in Australia’s humanitarian story through developing a new pathway for refugee resettlement.
This webinar presented on the co-design process for the RSSP, and asked participants to contribute ideas to how it could and should look and be run. This webinar is part of a process designed to meaningfully contribute to the development of an exciting new chapter in Australia’s refugee resettlement story with the potential for life-changing resettlement and educational opportunities for hundreds of refugee students in the years to come.

Collaborating for Consistent Scholarship Applications for Asylum Seekers
Sep 2022
In this workshop, our aim is to explore current admissions processes with a view to identifying streamlined, accessible, and consistent approaches for use across higher education institutions. From speaking with community advocates, we know that the variability across institutions creates significant challenges.
This panel discussion features community advocates from ASC and ASRC, providing insight into the challenges faced by students and guiding the discussion as participating institutions look for opportunities to provide as much consistency across application processes as institutional requirements will allow.
